Carolina Balloon Festival
Statesville, NC is home to the annual Carolina Balloon Festival. This visual spectacle of mass ascensions and glowing balloons is hosted by National Balloon Rally Charities . For over four decades this non-profit organization has showcased Iredell County's rich aviation history, and has given back to the local community, with proceeds from the event going to other non-profit charities and organizations in the mid-state area. The Carolina Balloon Festival is a one of a kind, fun-packed event complete with music, food, and flight!

Fort Dobbs Historic Site
During colonial America, the area now known as North Carolina, was home to only one permanent frontier fort, Historic Fort Dobbs. Along with trails and parks, this site houses an exact replica of the original fort that was errected in response to the French and Indian War (1754 - 1763). A 19th century log cabin serves as the Visitor Center, offering shops, educational resources, and serveral historic artifacts on display.
Gregory Creek Homestead
The Gregory Creek Homestead gives visitors a glimpse of life in pre-industrial America. Owned by the Iredell Museums Network, the homestead houses cabins and outbuildings dated back to eighteenth century, where visitors will be immersed in colonial living through interactive history demonstrations.
Zootastic Park and Zoo
Zootastic is a privately owned zoo located just outside of Statesville, in Troutman, NC. With options to drive or walk throug the park, everyone can enjoy the exciting animal sightings and encounters this zoo has to offer. Zootastic also features a petting zoo and personal animal encounters from 15 minutes to a full hour!
